Religious Based Alcohol Treatment
Faith based approaches are religious programs based on a relationship with God, Jesus Christ and/or the Bible. This approach encourages a personal relationship based on faith. This treatment for alcoholism is based on restoring a relationship with God, which can allow a person to heal and also restore relationships with their family, their own self-worth and dignity. Various religious belief systems such as Jewish, Catholic, Christian, etc. help their congregation with alcohol and drug addiction with this approach.
There are some religions, which actually offer facilities for the person to get treatment in a residential environment, which generally includes a medical staff, etc. Some of the other religious organizations will offer counselling through a rabbi, priest or other member of the clergy. This method of treatment is generally outpatient. Because no information was ever found on a study of the success rates of this type of program, its success rates can’t be accurately identified.
Christian based programs
