Alcohol Treatment programs in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan

Many people are familiar with Moose Jaw which is in the Saskatchewan territory of Canada. You can find it to the south of the Moose Jaw River. It is home to nearly thirty five thousand people. They pride this area as being a tourist attraction and a place where even royalty likes to visit. However, they are finding that they have a bigger issue on their hands. This would be the alcohol problems in the youth.

How it started

Much like the rest of Canada, Moose Jaw is seeing an increase in the amount of tourists. Parents have to work to support the family much as it is elsewhere in the world. With the parents not being home and the drinking age being as low as it is, it’s easy for teens to access alcohol. Alcohol is also a major part of Canadian life. However, now they are seeing that more and more teens at a younger age are getting addicted to it.

Therapy Programs Being Designed

As of recently, the area has put good money aside to build a new alcohol treatment center that will help those you are young and are addicted to alcohol and other substances or to help those who run the risk of being addicted. There has been at least a million dollars that have went to create this center as it offers different forms of alcohol treatment therapy in Saskatchewan which are needed to make a difference in the lives of these children. When they have this on their side, they hope to educate parents what to look for and help teens before it’s too late. It is there to help the community as the community is finding that this is a huge issue that they all have to deal with. When they learn together how to cope with the newly developing issue, they can start to make the changes that need to be made so more teens aren’t lost to this addiction.

Teenage Addictions

They are seeing kids as early as age twelve becoming addicted to the stuff that everyone in this area loves. It’s a tourist favorite, but it’s a teen favorite as well. Much is being considered to help the youth of this area. There are many who aren’t yet addicted, but very well run the risk of being ones that depend on the drink to get by from day to day. This is starting to really worry government officials.

Parents and Teen Addictions

Schools and parents are seeing the need for education to begin. That is why many schools are creating programs to bring awareness to the things that these teens are being subjected to on a daily basis. Among those things are gambling as well as alcohol related issues.
